MAYDAN SKI

About the project

In addition to the villas compound, mixed use building and landscaping designs that Shawa Architecture worked on for the Meydan’s interactive new area coming up, we also proposed this design of an office building. It has an original shape of a frame, and its beautiful structure allowed us to make one of the inner walls into a climbing wall. Such climbing wall can potentially be the largest in the world. Also, the huge empty space of the frame made it possible to let part of artificial ski pavilion run through it.

Concept

Following the concept of the overall plan for this Meydan area, we had to work with the idea that everything in it is supposed to be the biggest in the world. The peculiar modern shape of the building served well for both such attractions – the largest climbing wall and the largest artificial ski pavilion.
